Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Get your questions answered about using simulators, spare parts, and the Ysium platform.

How many uses does each simulator have?

Each Ysium simulator is designed to deliver realistic and long-lasting performance.

Under standard usage conditions, each wound withstands 10 complete practices .

Therefore:

  • The arm simulator (8 wounds) allows up to 80 uses .
  • The facial simulator (10 wounds) allows up to 100 uses .
  • Once these figures are exceeded, it is recommended to replace the skin with a new replacement to maintain the tactile sensation and the fidelity of the fabric.
How should I clean the simulator after each practice session?

When you notice that the simulator has lost its texture, clean the silicone surface with a cotton swab or gauze moistened with water or a mild soapy solution .

Do not use alcohol, bleach, or abrasive disinfectants, as they could damage the texture.

Let it air dry. If the surface becomes slightly sticky over time, apply a small amount of talcum powder and spread it with a soft brush until it disappears.

This restores the original finish and prevents the material from sticking.

What should I do if I notice that the simulator is losing power or stability?

Check that the base is properly secured and that the fabric is well settled on its structure.

If the problem persists after several uses, replace the skin or contact Ysium technical support for a review.

Where can I buy spare parts or additional tools?

Replacement parts and instrument kits are available directly from our online store ( ysiummedical.com ) or through the authorized distributor in your country.

You can also request an institutional quote from the business contact form on this same page.

What coverage does the warranty for Ysium simulators have?

All simulators include a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects or structural material flaws.

Leather replacements are not covered by warranty, as they are considered consumables.

Technical support includes advice and replacement of defective parts within the warranty period.

How can I contact technical support?

You can do so by emailing support@ysiummedical.com or by using the support form available on this page.

The team usually responds within 24–48 business hours .

Where can I access Ysium HUB's digital or training resources?

All users with an active license can log in from hub.ysiummedical.com .

On the platform you will find videos, technical guides, self-assessments and teaching support material.

Teachers have access to progress dashboards, downloadable worksheets, and materials for practical sessions.

Do they offer initial training or user workshops?

Institutions that acquire Ysium simulators have access to teacher onboarding sessions and 1:1 training on use, maintenance and clinical simulation methodology.

Short courses (micro-credentials) are also organized for trainers and simulation technicians.

Can simulators be used in OSCE exams or other assessments?

Yes. Ysium models are designed to replicate objective structured examination (OSCE) conditions.

They allow for standardization of practice, measurement of technical skill, and ensuring that all students face the same clinical situation.

What advantages does it have over other simulators on the market?

In addition to their anatomical realism, Ysium simulators stand out for their durability, ease of replacement, low cost per practice, and integration with the Ysium HUB digital platform.

This makes them a comprehensive, accessible, and sustainable training option for universities and clinical centers.
